Summer has arrived in Hong Kong, bringing with it both warmth and humidity. As the temperatures rise, may everyone take care and stay healthy. We are reminded to take care of our physical health, mental health, and social health in order to be healthy in a wholesome way. In the midst of the fast pace of living, every once in a while, remember to pause, breathe, and smile 😀.

Spring Retreat

On Apr 17 – 21, we had a five-day retreat: “The Path leading to Love and Understanding”. Together, we learned ways to take care of ourselves and preserve peace, joy, and well-being in our body and consciousness, as well as taking care of the collective body and consciousness of our family, society, and the Earth.
We had a chance listening to different Dharma talks and attended the five mindfulness training transmission ceremony on the last day of the retreat.
Sunday Day of Mindfulness & Vesak Celebration
On May 4th of the Sunday, we had Vesak Celebration, celebration of the birth of Buddha. While we bathed the baby Buddha, we were in touch with our Buddha in heart and nourished our happiness.
Every one of us has a Buddha within.
After the event, a lay member share with us this piece detailing about the event.

On April 11th, New York City officially co-named West 109th Street between Riverside and Broadway as “Thích Nhất Hạnh Way”.
A special ceremony honored the life and teachings of our beloved Thầy (teacher), followed by walking meditation to, and a reception and calligraphy exhibit at, Union Theological Seminary including chanting and readings.
Thích Nhất Hạnh lived at 306 West 109th Street, New York City, in the early 1960s while studying and teaching at Union Theological Seminary and Columbia University — a formative period in his life as a scholar, teacher, and activist. This street co-naming recognizes his contributions to mindfulness, peace, and social transformation worldwide.
