You are welcome to join the Chinese New Year activities to celebrate the Year of Dragon with us in AIAB. If you stay overnight, we invite you to bring along your sleeping bed or bed sheet & pillow case in order to preserve the precious water in washing bed linens.  The suggested contribution for the night is $200. If you plan to leave after the New Year Ceremony on February 10, 2020 midnight, please arrange for own transportation.

“Peace in Oneself, Peace in the World” Public Talk by Venerable Dr. Thich Chan Pháp Ấn In the midst of the rapid changes in the world, the pressure from work, responsibility from family, and uncertainty in life can all be the sources of our stress we feel day to day. We are happy to have Venerable Dr. Thich Chan Pháp Ấn who will have a short visit to Hong Kong and will give a public talk for the captioned subject. Programs: Guided meditation, Dharma Talk, Q&A Language: English Seat: Served in a first-come-first-serve basis. You will receive a confirmation email within 3 days after registration. Please arrive at the venue 30 minutes prior to settle down. Speaker: Venerable Dr. Thich Chan Pháp Ấn Thầy Pháp Ấn, MS, PhD, elder monk in the Plum Village Community, is director and dean of studies at the European Institute of Applied Buddhism, which he helped to establish in Germany in 2008. Ordained as a monk in 1994 by Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh (“Thầy”), founder of the Plum Village Tradition, he traveled widely for more than 20 years assisting Thầy with facilitating retreats in many parts of the world. Prior to entering monastic life at Plum Village in France, Venerable Pháp Ấn earned a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Applied Mathematics at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Sunday Day of Mindfulness (Memorial Ceremony for Thay) – 2024.01.14

The Day of Mindfulness (DOM) is mainly facilitated by the monks and nuns of AIAB with the intention to bring the practices of Buddhism into daily life. It is a day for us to experience the happiness of the present moment simply by having a series of mindfulness practice activities. The mindfulness practice will help us to become more focus and attentive in our daily life. Practicing together is indeed very happy and enjoyable! The DOM is free-of-charge and welcomes all, regardless of your religious background and experiences. We shall have the 2nd year Memorial Ceremony for our dear teacher Thay who passed away two years ago.  Hereunder is the tentative program on that day. Time Program 09:30 Orientation for new friends 10:00 Walking Meditation 11:00 Memorial Ceremony 12:30 Lunch 13:45 Total Relaxation 15:00 Watching documentary on Thay’s last return to Vietnam (42 minutes) followed by a short sharing 17:00 Farewell We will open the space for 80 friends to join the DOM on first-come-first serve basis. Registration window will be open on every Monday 22:00 until Friday 18:00, or seats are fully occupied. Registration will help the monastic to prepare lunch and other activities. There is no separate email sent as confirmation. Language: English with Cantonese Translation ** Please dress in a respectful manner as this is a monastery. Please do not wear shorts or tank tops (singlets), V-neck shirts or tight yoga clothes. Loose attire is preferred and the most comfortable for sitting meditation. We will also feel more at ease around the monastic brothers and sisters. You may need sun blocks, umbrella, insect repellent… based on your needs. The temperature at Ngong Ping is lower than town, please wear / bring warmth clothes with you, especially for practicing Total Relaxation in the afternoon. It will be the last Sunday Day of Mindfulness.  We do not only practice mindfulness together, but also celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.  In the afternoon, we will have a Be-In (Togetherness) session. If you have some sharing, like songs, poem, story…, you are welcome to share with us during the session. Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration (full)

AIAB missed to celebrate with you the Mid-Autumn Festival for the past three years. Finally, you can join the Mid-Autumn Festival held at the Lotus Pond Temple on Saturday, September 30, 2023. It will be a very joyful day for the AIAB monastics and friends to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival together. Coming here, you and your family can celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in a peaceful and joyful environment. With lanterns in our hands, we will enjoy our walking meditation under the full moon light around Ngong Ping village, so quiet at night. If you have a lantern of your own that you like to bring here to contribute to the beauty of colors and shapes of the festival, please do not hesitate. If you, your children, as a family can play some music or sing some happy Mid-Autumn’s songs that you wish to offer to the joyful, homely atmosphere of the Festival, we are more than happy to register your act as a performance for the celebration. We give priority to the children’s performances in the spirit of encouraging them and offering our care to their enthusiasm to being so naturally radiant and joyful. To be safe, we highly recommend you to stay overnight after the celebration. The suggested cost for one night is HK$200. Or, you can join the arranged bus back to Tung Chung after the activity.  HK$55 per person (same price for child).  Please go to responsible monastic and pay for the fee when you arrive. 2023 Zen Event Carnival – 2023.06.03-04

The annual Zen Event is coming. We have 11 organisations/units bringing different kinds of Meditation experience to you. There will be over 50 activities during these two days. This year, we have Children Program for children to learn mindfulness, and Zen Event Carnival market. You can find the introduction of the events in FB Rain of Compassion Sangha, PVHK (Chinese Only) Note: most of the activities are in Cantonese or Mandarin. Those activities facilitated by AIAB will be in English with Cantonese translation. The Registration linkage will be open on May 5, 2023. Hereunder is the consolidation of the Schedule for two days.
