Bi-monthly Theme: Good Citizens: Creating Enlightened Society With raging wars and social unrests on today’s globe, we have pressing need for more mutual understanding and a universal ethics to foster world peace. Drawing from the Buddha’s Four Noble Truths and the Eight Fold Path, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh offered us a non-sectarian approach to transcend partisan conflicts and preserve our precious planet. In the coming four Friday Nights, we will be practicing together and reading Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh’s latest book ‘Good Citizens: Creating Enlightened Society’. Please join us and practice applying Buddhist teaching in our citizenship. We are facing serious crisis of ecological destruction, rising inequality, social injustice and the lasting impacts of the pandemic. To face these challenges, we need to find ways to strengthen our clarity, compassion and courage to act. Mindfulness and the insights of Zen Meditation can give us the strength and clarity we need to help create a regenerative world that all lives are respected. Friday Night Practice @ Central is a bi-weekly mindfulness practice with Plum Village tradition. Friday Night Practice is a “lite” mindful practice in town, allowing you to practice and nourish your mindfulness with the community after a busy week.  Since the epidemic, we practice together through internet.  The Friday Night Practice is held on the 1st (in English) and the 3rd (in Cantonese) Friday of each month.   Date: June 4, 2021 Time: 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm Language: English Registration: Please note: Registration window will be closed by 2200 on June 3, 2021.  A confirmation email will be sent to you after registration closed. If you don’t find it, please check your bin/trash, or let us know.   Please arrive at the Zoom Meeting 5 minutes earlier.  If you never use Zoom, we suggest to try it out prior.   In order to nurture a serene and quiet environment for our practice, we will pre-set everyone to ‘mute’.  You are invited to stay “mute”, unless you have to share in the Dharma Sharing session.  You have a choice to turn on or off the “video” (showing your face), but we are happy to see your face.  We look forward practicing with you in Friday Night Practice. We all want Peace and Love. Yet, in the time of witnessing violence around and in us, how can we cultivate True Peace and True Love? Thay has said ‘Peace in Oneself, Peace in the World.’, ‘Love enables Us.’ Thus, in the coming 4 Friday Nights, we will be practicing together and reading Thay’s book Love in Action- writings on Non-Violent Social Change. We will read different chapters from the book on each Friday night. You are invited to join us, be inspired, be in love, and be in peace. We highly encourage you to join all four sessions.
